RingleID, the online business directory that is run by Sting Software Ltd, received Tk23.94 crore in digital money- Bangladesh's first digital money transaction via its transaction center.
The arrestee along with other co-accused used to lure investors through different modes of ads and social media, promising a significant amount as return on investment within a stipulated time period. The fake firm named ring ID was found running four months ago, created by Saiful's team who used to create content for the online scam using the image of legitimate firms and almost similar names. They were able to fool thousands of people across the country by promising them huge profits within a short period of time.
Saiful Islam, the director of ringID who was serving as business manager at the firm. On Sunday, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Saiful from his Amit Avenue residence in Dhanmondi.
